who is this steve guy?
Hey guys and girls
This is Steve from Steve’s Small Engine Saloon. I thought I’d tell you a little about myself and why I created this channel.
If you’ve already watched any of my videos then you know that I am devoted to creating HOW TO videos to teach people how to repair their own outdoor power equipment. My goal is simple….to save you time, money and frustration when you Do It Yourself instead of taking your equipment to a shop!
I’m not your everyday small engine mechanic. I have a thirst for knowledge and a thirst for beer. Men and women from around the globe love to spend their quiet hours tinkering in the garage with a cold beer. I’m one of those men.
It all began in high school when I learned that I had an aptitude for repairing not only small engines but any hands on projects I came across.
Even before I graduated, I jumped straight into working on small engines at a small engine rental shop in Hinton, Alberta. Since then I have worked in a number of small engine repair shops with a few years in between running my own home renovation business. The renovation business was a success but I soon learned that I disliked working in the wet weather we have here on Vancouver Island. So back to the repair shops I went.
Since 2014, I have worked at Walkers Saw Shop with a great group of mechanics. Walkers is well known around the world for their specialty of walkerizing chainsaws.
In the middle of all this I married the love of my life and executive producer of my channel, April. We have two amazing teenage daughters that strangely enough are not interested in small engine repairs.
It has been nearly 30 years since I stepped foot in my first small engine shop and I have had the opportunity to work with many great mechanics and have picked up tips and tricks from all of them. I also think it is important that I keep pace with this ever changing industry so I regularly attend service update schools for Echo, Stihl and Husqvarna to obtain the latest information on their products, technical updates and new repair techniques.
I have always wanted to find a way that I could share the knowledge I have learned over the years and YouTube has become my outlet. Combined with my love of beer, this is how Steve's Small Engine Saloon was born.
I hope that I can help many of you out there repair your own lawn and garden equipment so you can enjoy the satisfaction of Doing It Yourself like I do!!
A special thank you to all those Steve's Small Engine Saloon supporters out there. Your donations help to make these videos happen. Stay tuned for more videos coming your way!
